Joe, was raised in Winston-Salem and Cherryville, NC, and came to the Asheville area for undergraduate school.
Joe’s interests led him to complete a B.A. in Religion and Philosophy, M.A. in Near Eastern Studies, and Juris Doctorate. Despite traveling along the east coast for school and living in Israel for 3 years, the mountains of North Carolina always called him back.
Joe taught as an adjunct professor in UNC Asheville’s departments of Classics and Humanities for 10 years, and today serves as a Magistrate Judge in the state’s 28th Judicial District.
In his spare time, Joe enjoys singing, learning, walking, and swimming.
